On January 30, 2019, the School of Environmental Science held a Welcome and Early Integrated Reboan event which was held on the 3rd floor of the IASTH UI Salemba Building. Integrated Initial Reboan is a debriefing, briefing, and explanation activity for all Masters and Doctoral level students at the School of Environmental Sciences, University of Indonesia. This activity is an activity that must be carried out by all new students, active students, and graduates of the School of Environmental Science, University of Indonesia. This activity is carried out at the beginning of each new semester before the lecture takes place. Unlike the reboan activity, the integrated early reboan activity is carried out by integrating four activities simultaneously. These activities include briefing and debriefing, welcoming new students, and releasing graduates of the Masters and Doctoral levels of the School of Environmental Sciences, University of Indonesia.
Participants of the SIL-UI Integrated Welcome and Early Reboan Event attended and registered starting at 15.30 WIB. After registration, participants were directed to vote for candidates for the next period of HIMPASILING UI chairman. The election is open until 17.00 WIB and the highest results will be announced during the reboan activity. The candidates for HIMPASILING UI chairman are Priyaji Agung Pambudi (19A), Berly Martawardaya (19A), Wedo Aru Yudhantoro (37B Regular) and David Febraldo (38A Special).
The Lepas Sambutambut and Reboan Integrated event was opened at 16.00 WIB by Atiti Setyaning Utami, as the host, followed by singing the Indonesia Raya Song. The event continued with an explanation of academic activities for the even semester FY. 2019/2020 which included an explanation of the academic agenda, academic rules and exams in this semester based on the SIL Leadership Decree, Rector Decree No. 566 and 3189/SK/R/UI/2019 by the Deputy Director of the School of Environmental Sciences, Dr. dr. Tri Edhi Budhi Soesilo, M.Si. Mr. Budhi hopes that every student can pay attention to the important dates that have been listed in the decree. The first session was closed by singing the Nusantaraku song followed by a brief introduction of new even semester students FY. 2019/2020 to senior students led by Mr. Budhi.
The second session was opened with the submission of EIA certificates submitted by Andreas Pramudianto, S.H, M.Si. and Ihya Sulthonuddin as representatives of the University of Indonesia Human Resources and Environment Research Center (PPSML UI). EIA training is one of the activities routinely carried out by PPSML UI. After that, followed by a parade of SIL-UI graduates for the even semester period FY. 2019/2020. The number of graduates at the master’s level was 27 graduates and the doctoral level was 3 graduates. After the parade of graduates ended, Dr. Hayati Sari Hasibuan, M.T. gave a speech in order to welcome new students and release SIL-UI graduates. In her speech, Mrs. Sari revealed that there is nothing more encouraging for teachers than seeing their students graduate well. She feels and understands how the journey, struggles, and challenges of each graduate. So that each graduate has its own story that makes an impression. He said that this graduation point is a form of success for graduates in managing studies, managing life, managing challenges encountered while at the School of Environmental Sciences. So that every story obtained while studying at SIL UI can provide deep meaning for the graduates.
The graduation procession is the beginning to be able to further develop ourselves because all the challenges that will be faced in the real world will definitely be even tougher and form even more maturity. The teachers want to hear the good news that the graduates who have graduated from the School of Environmental Science can provide good colors for the surroundings and hope to move together to do the best for the environment, nation and country because the best human being is the one who can benefit others and their environment the most. The teachers never ask for what has been given back during the teaching process, but what has been obtained during the school is expected to benefit the wider community. Mrs. Sari closed her remarks with the hope that this moment can be an example and motivation for other students.
The speech session was interspersed with the announcement of the elected chairman and the handover of the HIMPASILING UI position. Based on the results of the elections that have been carried out, the elected chairman for the 2020 period fell to Priyaji Agung Pambudi, S3 student class 19A with the highest vote of 37.6% of the votes. The handover of office was led by the previous Chairperson of HIMPASILING UI, Sabarina Husein.
The event continued with impressions and messages from representatives of graduates of the School of Environmental Sciences. The graduates expressed their gratitude to SIL UI and the teaching staff because thanks to them, the graduates received knowledge, support and enthusiasm during the study process. Ivan Syamsulrizal, as a representative of S3 graduates in his speech, said that the process of completing a doctoral program is very dependent on the effort in dividing time. This is because most of the students are already working and have other activities that can be the main reason for the obstruction of the study process. Having a busy life does not mean forgetting the important task as a student, which is studying. Therefore, doctoral program students are expected to develop strategies to complete their studies. In the course of studying, there must be ups and downs, but with perseverance and willingness, the problem can be resolved properly.
The study period undertaken as a student at the School of Environmental Sciences gave its own impression to the graduates. Ahmad Ahsov, as a representative of S2 graduates, said that he was proud to be part of SIL-UI and advised other students to continue to maintain enthusiasm and curiosity about the knowledge gained. Passion is important in completing studies at SIL-UI. Adenira Hargianintya, as a representative of S2 graduates, said that most students have a great sense of unwillingness to do assignments long before the deadline, guidance when the revision is felt unfinished, reading a lot of literature. So Adenira advised to fight the sense of unwillingness together. Cindewiyani, a representative of S2 graduates, gave tips to students who are studying in order to immediately complete their final project, namely 5 K (Consult, Coordinate, Cooperate, Openness and Work) which must be done continuously.
The SIL-UI Integrated Welcome and Early Reboan event was closed with a prayer by Habib Subagio and a group photo at 18.30 WIB.
