Impact of Climate Change on Communities in Coastal Areas

Short Description

This paper discusses climate change that affects the lives of people in coastal areas. As a result of this climate change has an impact on the social and economic life of coastal communities such as fishermen, they cannot go to sea due to perceived climate change, such as rainfall, high waves, which are accompanied by strong winds making it difficult for fishermen to predict the fishing season causing losses for fishermen. Meanwhile, every day fishermen need expenses to fulfill their daily needs, and need capital to work. This paper also discusses what we can do to reduce the impact of climate change, and also about the ways that can be done so that the impact of climate change for coastal communities can be overcome, is to prepare anticipatory steps from now on, one of which is by replacing traditional boats commonly used by local fishermen. The boats that will be used next, at least, must be made of materials that are strong from seawater corrosion attacks.
