Effect of picking on the Growth and Yield of Various Tea Plant Clones (Camellia sinensis L.)
Short Description
This study aims to determine the effect of picking rotation on the growth and yield of various tea plant clones. The research was conducted at the Gambung Tea and Kina Research Center (PPTK) Plantation, in Mekarsari Village, Pasir Jambu District, Ciwidey, Bandung. With an altitude of 1300 m above sea level, from April to July 2012. This study was conducted using a separate plot design to examine two factors, namely various GMB clones as the main plot factor with 3 levels, namely c1 = GMB 4, c2 = GMB 7, and c3 = GMB 9. And picking rotation is a subsidiary factor, with 5 levels, namely: p1 = 5-day picking rotation, p2 = 7-day picking rotation, p3 = 9-day picking rotation, p4 = 11-day picking rotation, and p5 = 13-day picking rotation, consisting of 15 treatment combinations repeated 3 times. The results showed that the arrangement of the picking cycle on various clones affected the growth of tea plants and production yields.
